Panjiayuan Antique Market has gradually become a cultural landmark, attracting not only traditional handicraft enthusiasts but also young people seeking antique treasures and a glimpse into Beijing's cultural ambience. Moving forward, the Wednesday night market will feature cultural and creative products, while the Friday night market will continue to offer its customary range of goods.
During the day, amazing cultural artifacts make up most of the market. After dusk, the market expands its offerings to an array of items such as bracelets, pendants, phone charms, second-hand game consoles, and cameras.
The Wednesday night market
Although the market on Wednesday night may not be as bustling as the one on Friday night, vendors are more than happy to provide customers with a wider range of choices.
Over the years, the market has expanded southwards, attracting both domestic and international admirers of traditional Chinese handicrafts. Meanwhile, the market is surrounded by a large number of shopping centers that also offer antique items.
Panjiayuan Antique Market is included in a list of Beijing's top internet-famous sites in 2022, under the category of "Blocks, Parks and Night-time Economy". This selection has been made by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, recognizing the market’s significant contribution to the city's night-time economy.
